I disagree with this general
statement. Whenever the publishing job is run manually all other
production steps are run manually as well!
Obviously, it is not unthinkable
that one of the production steps could be skipped accidentally if we're forced
to run production manually but there is a simple step-by-step process that is being
followed.
It is much more likely that
there is a bug in the program that's sending the transfer emails when it's not
run at its scheduled day/time.

Hi Kim,
The publishing job failed that
weekend due to changes made to the publishing scripts to accommodate the new
GeneticisProfessional documents. I will enter an issue in Bugzilla for Volker to
look into this issue. It appears that whenever the publishing job
is ran manually, the Transfer email does not go out as it should.

Once again, a question on the
nightly Bach: Transfer of Protocol(s) from NCI to Responsible Party email. The
trials that Ning asked about were all entered on 3/19 – and we received NO
email that evening that these trials were flagged as needing transfer (Ning
noted the same). Due to the lack of an email, they have not yet been
transferred.
I tried to figure out why – and
thought maybe it was because the version was invalid. But, on 3.18, Andrea did
the same – added the info and saved an invalid version on the trial
(CDR0000663409). We received the transfer email that night.
Was there some system issues on
the night of the 19th? If so, we need to implement a safeguard so
that if that happens again, we will still receive the email the next time the
system is running. This email is required for us to know what trials to
transfer on any given day, and therefore not only impacts the sites asking for
ownership, but the timely republication of the trial on cancer.gov.
Ning – FYI – Andrea is working
on the transfer now, and will send dates when the task is complete.

Looks like we don’t have transfer dates for this batch of transfer trials.
It’s a bit strange. I save all the automated emails for transfer like this one: “Bach: Transfer of Protocol(s) from NCI to Responsible Party.” But I don’t remember seeing an email for this batch. I believe these 34 trials appear on our ctgov processing report on 3-20-10.
Could you check into this? Thanks!
